Resort Review: L’ Sirene Boutique Resort

Resort Review: L’ Sirene Boutique Resort

So, I discovered this resort 2 years ago when I was looking for a pet-friendly resort in Baler because of my shihtzu. Back then, they were still on a soft opening.

Looking on the resort information, I discovered that the resort is actually owned by Sam Pinto. It is located at Brgy. Reserva in Baler, Aurora. This is 20-30 minutes away from Brgy. Sabang where the Sabang Beach is located where there are a lot of hotels.

HOW TO GET THERE:
  • By private car - If using Waze, search DPWH Aurora. L’Sirene Boutique Resort is right beside it. Or just search for L’Sirene.
  • By public transportation - Genesis bus is the only bus (at this time) that caters direct transportation from Cubao to Baler. You may also opt for JoyBus (their deluxe version) too. Once you’re in Baler, just take a tricycle going to L’Sirene and tell them that it is the resort beside DPWH Aurora since some drivers are not familiar with L’Sirene yet. We paid Php 120 (for the 2 of us) for 1 way-tricycle trip.
*I suggest traveling at dawn to avoid traffic as travel time may take 5 hours or longer depending on traffic.

After arriving at the resort, you will first see the reception area and you will actually be able to see the rooms and the pool as well. I bet you’ll be excited as soon as you arrive at the resort.

The resort only has 15 rooms which I really liked not only because you keep the privacy but because its not crowded. You’ll actually be able to relax and rest. This is the main reason I like going back to this resort. Whenever I want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Makati, I always think of this place.

My bestfriend, Denise and I got a Deluxe room which can accomodate 4 people. The rooms and the whole resort are mermaid-themed which I heard were all designed by Sam herself.

The deluxe room costs Php 5,500 + VAT. While the Super deluxe room costs Php 6,500 + VAT.
The room price does not include breakfast.

The room itself has glass doors (and a curtain if you want privacy) overlooking the jacuzzi-type pool outside your room. You can just quickly take a dip whenever you want!

They also have a new 4-ft pool which did not exist when they first opened and is just a new addition to the resort. This pool is overlooking the beach (can not be clearly seen in the above picture, though).

You will also surely love the hammocks and swing beds where its best to spend your siesta time.

Hammock

My bestfriend and I really loved their swing beds.

For the beach, they don’t have a white sand like Boracay but the beach is perfect for surfing. Well, Baler is know to be a surfing place, and not because of white sand beaches.

The resort also offers some paid amenities you can avail:
  • Surfing and Surfing lessons
  • Fishing (haven’t tried). You may rent fishing rods priced @ Php 400/rod
  • Bonfire setup priced @ Php 500/night

Surfing has been my favorite sport (still an amateur though!) and the waves in this resort is perfect for people like me who prefers bigger waves since Sabang Beach has smaller waves.

Surfing lessons with coach instructor costs Php 400/hour while surfboard rental costs Php 200/hour.

Just a reminder: Best to wear rashguard with long sleeves and swimming pants when surfing here. Unlike other beaches, the sand is not as fine so you might get skin abrasion while surfing (like I did in my legs).

The bonfire by the beach is also upon request so just let the receptionist know if you want to avail so they can set it up before the sun sets.

Their in house restaurant, Hungry Mermaid also offer snack like smores, which you can eat while watching the fire. You may also bring your own marshmallows and melt it by the fire!

HUNGRY MRMD

As mentioned above, the resort also have their in-house restaurant called “Hungry Mrmd”. Food costs around 200-400 so best to budget it @ Php 350/meal with drinks.
*Food review on my next blog post.

*There are also no other food options near the place so this is the only place you get to eat when you stay at the resort. Only light snacks are allowed to bring inside the resort.

We stayed in this place for 3 days and 2 nights but everything felt like it was a dream. And I felt like a mermaid too! I really can’t wait to go back again to this place!
